Great choice! Trust me, City Walk is more than just an afterthought; it’s a destination all on its own.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve witnessed it grow, renovate, and become a magnet for visitors worldwide. It is the perfect theme park alternative for relaxing and making new memories without the roller-coasters.
But the real charm of City Walk is the food. As a foodie, I can attest that it’s a haven for food lovers.

Best Restaurants At Universal CityWalk Orlando
While experiencing City Walk Orlando, you have a vast array of food categories, such as:
- Food and Beverages carts
- Quick-service eateries
- Full-service restaurants, and
- Chic lounges.
I still get a chuckle thinking about my first date night there. My wife still teases me about how I practically had a love affair with the food before her.
I mean, can you blame me?
One minute, I’m sipping a drink at a lively bar, the next, I’m savoring a tasty appetizer, then diving into a fantastic dinner and capping it off with a decadent dessert—all without having to go far.
But of course, after all that, I did make sure to save some love for her 😉
Pausing up my love story and speaking of culinary delights, here are the 10 ultimate top restaurants at City Walk that you definitely don’t want to miss!
1. The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar
Type: Full-service restaurant
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is a must-visit if you’re craving a unique dining adventure at City Walk Orlando. This electric restaurant blends the best of both worlds with inventive sushi-burger combos.
Being thoughtful?
I was also skeptical at first, wondering sushi and burgers together? But my curiosity won, and I’m glad it did.
The night my family dined there, we tried the ‘Burgushi,’ a fascinating fusion of sushi and burger.
Our favorite from the list was the Bison Burgushi. The drinks were also just as exciting. We tried the Marshmallow Crisp milkshake and cocktails, which were so good it put us in a happy food coma. We still laugh over the novelty of it. It’s now our inside joke that City Walk made us sushi-burger converts!
However, the bill was a bit of sticker shock as the place leans towards the pricey side. Yet still, if you’re in the mood for a memorable meal that mixes American and Asian flavors, The Cowfish is where it is.
2. The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen
Type: Full-service restaurant
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is a reality whimsical chocolate wonderland. With its quirky, Willy Wonka-esque design, the exterior promised an adventure. I was ready for a dessert overload, but to my surprise, the real magic was in the diverse dinner menu.
The menu was outclassed, offering everything from juicy steaks and fresh seafood to savory quiches and delightful crepes. The dishes ranged from $15-25, making it a perfect choice for families.
We couldn’t wait to dive into the steampunk-themed decor and creative desserts. The chocolate brownie bark and salted caramel flan were as inventive as they were tempting.
The savory options were just as impressive. The Southern Fried Chicken BLT and Cocoa Pork Tenderloin were big hits.
But it was the milkshakes that stole the show. Our kids were thrilled with the over-the-top creations served in mason jars.
My son, who is usually picky about food, declared the Chocolate x5 milkshake ‘the best thing ever.’ ‘ Now, every visit ends with a chocolatey treat from Toothsome.

3. VIVO Italian Kitchen
Type: Full-service restaurant
Time for a love affair! After a fun day at Universal Studios, VIVO Italian is third best restaurant for a date night, mind this!
My wife swears it’s better than the last movie we tried to watch at home. It’s actually our go-to spot when we need a break from our kitchen experiments (which usually end with us ordering pizza anyway).
At VIVO, you can dive into fresh pasta, hand-tossed pizza, and desserts so delightful that you might skip the gym just to enjoy more. The must-try are Torchio Pasta, Panna Cotta, and Lobster Ravioli. Plus, their open kitchen is like a dinner theater, where you can watch the chefs whip up your meal with flair (sort of like a cooking show, but you get to eat the results.)
And if you love calamari, be prepared to be smitten. All this at prices that won’t make you weep. Reservations can be tough to snag, but it’s worth every visit.
4. Bob Marley – A Tribute to Freedom
Type: Full-service restaurant
Bob Marley is similar to Kingston, Jamaica. The vibrant decor and Bob Marley memorabilia set the scene, but the real magic happened with the food and live music.
We started with the Jerk Chicken Tacos, packed with bold flavors. The oxtail stew was out of this world, while the Rasta Pasta offered a creamy and spicy twist. The yucca fries were crispy and addictive—definitely don’t skip them. Plus, their Tostones crispy plantains served with a zesty dipping sauce, quickly became a favorite. For dessert, we indulged in the Coconut Flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Plus, they also offer vegan food items.
One night, we were lucky enough to catch a spontaneous jam.
While waiting for our food, we all danced to the lively beats – my son’s impromptu dance moves were the highlight!
However, note that private events might cost a $10 cover charge, but the lively atmosphere and delicious Caribbean flavors make it worth it.
5. Big Fire
Type: Full-service restaurant
Cooking over an open flame at Bigfire is like a little slice of summer romance, and Bigfire captures that perfectly. My wife and I have had many magical nights here, and we still talk about them with a twinkle in our eyes.
The restaurant has a cozy, lakeside summer house vibe with smoky wood accents that just enhance every bite. The menu is a meat lover’s paradise, featuring juicy steaks, mouthwatering burgers, and more—all cooked to absolute perfection.
On our last visit, we went all out and tried the Colorado Lamb Mixed Grill and the Cowboy Ribeye. Let me tell you, they were tasty-Ish! These dishes will make your taste buds dance happily if you love steak. But the cherry on top of the evening? Roasting s’mores right at our table. It felt like a special campfire moment made just for us.
While Bigfire may not have a wide range of vegan options, its bourbon menu and hearty dishes more than makeup for it. You can still find some good salads if that’s more your speed.
6. The Hard Rock Café
Type: Full-service restaurant
If you’re a pop culture fan, you can’t miss the Hard Rock Cafe! Not just of Orlando, but it’s the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world. Walking in, you’re greeted by a dazzling display of rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, from Buddy Holly’s iconic glasses to Elvis’s suit from Viva Las Vegas. You’ll be transported into a music lover’s paradise after one visit here.
My kids were in awe of the guitars lining the walls, and I couldn’t resist snapping a photo next to one of John Lennon’s jackets. The live music venue, which can hold up to 3,000 people, keeps the place buzzing with energy.
And the food?
Legendary.
With its slider burgers, fresh salads, and decadent desserts, the Hard Rock Cafe never disappoints. And don’t forget to get some collectible pins as a memento, too!
7. Voodoo Doughnuts
Type: Quick-service restaurant
You’ve just spent a thrilling day at Universal Orlando and are on the hunt for a sweet reward. Enter Voodoo Doughnuts – the Portland-born doughnut paradise that’s practically begging to be on your must-visit list.
I remember my first experience vividly: the line stretched around the block, but the allure of those legendary doughnuts kept me in line. Stepping inside felt like entering a sugary carnival, with the air filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly fried dough and sweet glaze.
The menu is a playground of flavors, featuring whimsical creations like the Voodoo Doll, adorned with a pretzel stake, and the indulgent Oh Captain, My Captain. For those who prefer plant-based options, the Vegan ODB proves that plant-based can be just as delicious. These gourmet treats are budget-friendly, with prices ranging from $1.75 to $4. It’s a sweet deal for such extraordinary doughnuts!
8. Bubba Gump Shrimp
Type: Full-service restaurant
At CityWalk Universal Orlando, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. celebrates the movie “Forrest Gump” with a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. This casual seafood restaurant serves classics like Maker’s Mark Salmon, Forrest’s Seafood Feast, and a tasty Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae. You can also enjoy Shrimp Scampi, Coconut Shrimp, and Bubba’s Shrimp Sampler. The Baby Back Ribs and Fish and Chips are also great choices.
While the seafood is good, the focus is more on movie memorabilia and a casual vibe than on gourmet dishes. I was excited for a seafood feast but found the menu mostly familiar. The film-themed decor was enjoyable, and shrimp and ribs were tasty, but I hoped for something more unique culinary flavor.
9. Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches
Type: Full-service restaurant
Bread Box is a no-brainer if you’re looking for a quick, satisfying bite at CityWalk.
My wife and I stumbled upon this charming spot a few years back, and it was one of those serendipitous discoveries that turned out to be a total game-changer. We each picked out a sandwich, and we were impressed. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich had just the right kick, while the Steak & Cheese Melt was gooey and cheesy. And the BLTA (which we tasted on our second encounter), with its crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and creamy avocado, was simply unbeatable.
However, this restaurant offers more than sandwiches; its sides, like crispy fries, golden tater tots, and tangy coleslaw, perfectly complement any meal. Plus, they also offer soups and desserts. Every time we’re in CityWalk now, it’s our first stop for a satisfying sandwich fix.
10. Pat O’Brien’s
Type: Full-service restaurant
Whenever my friends and I are in the mood for a taste of New Orleans right here in Orlando, we head over to Pat O’Brien’s at CityWalk. This place really captures that bayou vibe with its energetic and fun atmosphere. The dueling pianos are a huge hit—live performances where you can request songs that turn into epic sing-alongs. I’ll never forget one night when my favorite song came up, and everyone joined in!
Coming to dining, they have a great selection at the full bar and a Cajun-inspired menu. You’ve got to try the Mardi Gras Gumbo, Jambalaya, and crawfish étouffée, and, of course, their Hurricane cocktail, which comes in a cool keepsake glass.
The only thing to note is that there’s a cover charge, and it gets pretty packed after 9 PM, but if you love a lively, rowdy atmosphere, you’ll fit right in!
