Looking for accurate directions? For a smooth journey, here is a local tip: Come from the east coast of Florida and take Interstate 4 West towards downtown Orlando. Then, take Exit 82B for South Street and follow the signs for the Dr. Phillips Center.

Or if you’re coming from the West Coast, hop onto Interstate 4 East towards downtown and take Exit 82A for South Street. From there, just follow the signs to reach the center quickly.

The Timings

So, if you’re eyeing a fantastic time at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, let me help you with the timings. Firstly, when purchasing those tickets, consider hitting the box office during their walk-in hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday or from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

And if you’re more of a phone person, they’ve got you covered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekends from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets online through their official website, which is available 24/7.

Just a heads up: If you are planning to visit on public holidays, let me inform you that they don't render services on holidays like New Year's or Christmas Eve.

One last thing to note: To ensure a smooth experience, plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime to breeze through security and maybe grab a drink from the bar. Speaking of which, the bar opens 60 to 90 minutes before the show starts and stays open for an hour after the curtain call.

Make your life easier with their Valet Parking Service. It’s right on Magnolia Avenue, smack in front of the center, so getting there couldn’t be simpler. This service begins two hours before shows and special events.

The prices are $38 for premium (the VIP treatment), $27 for standard, and $14 for accessibility valet (flash your state-issued disabled parking permit).

2. DIY Parking

Now, if you prefer to park yourself, check out these nearby parking options. The 77 E. Jackson Street Garage is ideal for catching Broadway shows and other events. Plus, it’s a bargain at $12 if you get your spot beforehand or $15 on the day. However, remember, the clearance here is 6′ 5″.

Another great option is the City Commons Parking Garage at 460 Boone Ave. It’s connected to the center by a covered sky bridge, which is super handy. Parking rates are $13 if you plan or $14 on the day of the show, with an 8″ requirement for easy clearance.

Note: For those needing accessible parking, both the City Commons Parking Garage and Valet Parking Service have spots available. Just make sure you have your state-issued disabled parking permit handy.

3. Pre-Paid Parking

Now, if you want to avoid the last-minute parking frenzy, you can pre-pay for your spot online or at the Darden Box Office up to 24 hours before showtime.

Prices range from $12 for Seaside Parking Garage to $33 for premium valet. Standard and accessibility valet options are available at $24 and $12, respectively.

4. Public Transport Alternatives

If you’re into public transit, you’re covered, too. Check out the Lynx and Lymmo routes for easy access, with several stops around the Dr. Phillips Center. And if you’re coming by SunRail, hop off at the Church Street stop, just a short walk away at 99 W. South St.

Just remember, SunRail takes a breather on weekends and some federal holidays, so plan accordingly. Their schedules are online, and you can find more information.

5. Other Transportation Options

Let’s say you’re not keen on driving yourself but still want to get to the Dr Phillips Center in style. Well, lucky for you, there are a few other nifty options to consider:

  • Taxis: If you need a ride, call Mears Transportation. They’ll swoop in and whisk you away to the center quickly.
  • General Guest Drop-Off & Pick-Up: If someone drops you off and needs a spot, that’s quick and easy. Look no further than 155 E. Anderson St. It’s the perfect spot for speedy drop-offs and pick-ups—no fuss, no hassle.
  • Bus Drop-Off & Parking: If you’re coming in with a whole crew on a bus, contact the group sales department ahead of time, and they’ll sort out all the details for your parking needs.

Additional Things to Know

We encountered some difficulties during our initial visit, which led to various challenges. To prevent similar issues, let’s ensure you tie up these loose ends before proceeding further.

  • Della Phillips opens about an hour before the show starts, so if you plan a sudden trip, be early to grab those tickets.
  • Need some last-minute tickets or want to chat? The Bill & Mary Darden Box Office is your spot. However, make sure to be there two hours before the show’s start time.
  • Children under two years old are not allowed inside the theatres unless specified differently.
  • Once you buy those tickets, they’re yours. No returns, sorry!
  • Remember to use the hand sanitizer stations scattered at distinct places to stay clean and healthy.
  • At the Bill & Mary Darden Box Office, you can pay using cash, cards, traveler’s checks, or even a Dr. Phillips Center gift certificate. The choice is yours.
  • Everybody entering the theatre needs a ticket, even babies and kids, if permitted.
  • Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes early. The management doesn’t refund or swap tickets for fashionably late arrivals.
  • If you miss the curtain call, you can sneak in during a short break in the action, like between songs or acts, but not before that.
