Now, you might be wondering, just like me on my first visit, is it all about rides, or does LEGOLAND have a water park?

That’s understandable due to Florida’s scorching heat.

Well, guess what? It does.

And it’s seriously a splasher. You need to upgrade your ticket, and you’ll have access to wave pools, lazy rivers, and fun LEGO-themed water activities.

LEGOLAND Florida isn’t just about rides and water fun. When it replaced the famous Cypress Botanical Gardens in 2011, it preserved the area within its park. The botanical gardens are stunning, with lush landscapes, towering trees, and cozy gazebos perfect for a little family picnic or a quick getaway from the park’s hustle and bustle.

LEGOLAND: Location, Parking, and Operational Hours

Where is LEGOLAND Located?

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is in Winter Haven, Florida, about an hour’s drive from Tampa and Orlando. It’s located at One LEGOLAND Way, FL 33884. It’s a bit of a hidden gem because it’s not smack dab in the middle of Orlando’s big theme parks, like Disney World and Universal.

Insider’s Tip: Knowing the location here is advice for first-time guests. Arriving by plane, you can fly into Orlando International Airport or Tampa International Airport, but unfortunately, there’s no direct shuttle or bus service from either city, so you’ll need to arrange transportation. Renting a car is the best-recommended way out because ride-share services can get pricey, and LEGOLAND is offering up to a 35% discount on Budget PAY NOW rates. LEGOLAND Directions

Now, how do you get there? If you’re coming from Orlando, hop on I-4 WEST and take exit 55 (US Hwy 27 South), then make a right onto State Road 540/Cypress Gardens Boulevard. If you’re cruising from Tampa, take I-4 EAST to Exit 27 (Polk County Parkway), then take Exit 14 to Winter Haven by turning east on S.R. 540. Now, when purchasing your parking pass, you’ve got a couple of options. You can do it online or in person. It is sincerely recommended that you buy online to avoid problems later. Going online, you’ll find two choices:

  • Standard Parking: for cars, starting at $35, this is a bit farther from the park, but it is still just a 5–10-minute walk from LEGOLAND.
  • Preferred Parking: from $52. This one’s much closer, only about a minute’s walk away.
  • Campers/RVs/Motorcycles: For those embarking on their LEGOLAND adventure with a trailer or RV, designated parking spaces are available for $40. If you’re arriving on two wheels, the designated motorcycle parking area is available for $35, providing a convenient and secure place to park during your visit.
  • Day Valet charges around $70.

LEGOLAND Operational Hours

Now, onto timing. LEGOLAND usually starts the fun at 10 a.m. and wraps it around 6 p.m. They might stretch those hours on weekends and during busy seasons like summer. Heads up, though, on Wednesdays during quieter times, they might shut down early, around 5 p.m. So, always double-check those hours before you head out.

The LEGOLAND Florida water park dances to its beat, opening a tad later at 11 a.m. and calling it quits around 4 p.m. However, it may get closed during bad weather and particular holidays. So, please plan accordingly and check their website before heading up.

Insider’s Tip: For the best experience, plan your visit between January 3 and February 28 or from May 1 to May 25, as there are fewer crowds and possibly better prices. Avoid June, July, March, and April because they are the busiest times with high prices.

Well, it might not sound like everyone’s cup of tea, but once you experience the thrill of this ride, you won’t want to miss it. Jumping into one of those nifty AQUAZONE Pods with younglings and riding the waves along is a new experience. But hold onto your swim trunks because this isn’t your average joy ride. You’re not just cruising along; you’re dodging water blasts like a pro.

Now, for all you moms out there, let me assure you this ride’s a winner for the whole family. Your little ones, and you can’t get enough of the excitement. Plus, the fact that guests have to stand in those Aquazone pods? Genius moves. It adds that extra thrill factor while keeping everyone safe and sound.

Battle of Bricksburg

This indoor ride transports you into the heart of a desert expedition filled with LEGO adventurers, ancient mysteries, and hidden treasures. Also, remember that even though kids as small as 30 inches can ride, it might be frightening for little ones who get spooked easily.

Merlin’s Challenge

Experience the enchanted wooden train ride, Merlin’s Challenge, propelled by the wizard’s powers. This spectacular ride, which revolves and leads you to a world of historical fantasy and joy, is ideal for kids of all ages. It rotates in a circle but moves up and down, making it more entertaining. I feel as though I’m under a mystical spell.

Mia’s Riding Adventure

If your kids are excited to saddle up and feel the wind in their hair, throw up at Mia’s camp. It’s a super fun horse-riding camp where you can pick your favourite pony and hop on for an excellent ride on the disc coaster that spins around as it zooms up and down the tracks.

Pirate River Quest

Wondering for more reasons to get up to LEGOLAND? Well, here’s another not-to-miss experience —the Pirate River Quest.

It’s not just about cruising the boat with your crew. It’s about sailing along the beautiful Cypress Gardens while encountering a pirate adventure. Yes, you read that right. LEGO pirates will join you on a quest, and guess what they’re after? Captain Redbeard’s hidden treasure. This fun-filled journey will last about 20 minutes and is perfect for the whole family. You can set sail between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, but get in line early because it’s a popular attraction.

Royal Joyust

Here, you’ll watch out for LEGO horses through a medieval forest. They’ll feel like real knights and princesses as they encounter other jousting knights and magical creatures. It’s a scene of a fairytale brought to real life, and trust me, the kids will love it.

The Great LEGO Race

This roller coaster is among those quite entertainers. It resembles an exciting journey full of breaks, surprises, and falls. It has lovely virtual reality goggles that transport you to another universe. But don’t worry, it’s still worth going if you can’t get one VR.

This ride may be too difficult for your little kids, but it’s one of their favorites, as my kids are above eight.

The LEGO Movie – Master of Flights

This captivating ride takes you on a suspended journey with a full-dome virtual screen, simulating the sensation of flying alongside beloved LEGO characters. Gliding through the air, you’ll encounter scenes from THE LEGO MOVIE, encountering familiar faces and new personalities like Sweet Mayhem. Perfect for thrill-seekers and LEGO enthusiasts alike, this one-of-a-kind attraction promises unforgettable family fun.

For those afflicted with motion sickness, this ride is not for you.

Minimum height requirements: Under 40” is not allowed; someone between 40” and 52” must be with someone 14+ and 52” or taller.

UniKitty’s Disco Drop

This ride is about good vibes and pure joy, making it a surefire hit with the kids. They will enter through a rainbow portal and join Unikitty for a wild ride. The ride is followed in three layers: drop, dip, and swoop to the tiptop of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then spin and bounce back down to earth. It’s like a disco party in the sky, giving kids fun, positivity, and the best times.

Minimum height requirements: people under 40” are not allowed; people between 40” and 48” must be with someone 14+.

After exploring the theme park’s stimulating rides, it’s time to chill off in this watery haven. From the towering tube slides to the lazy river where you can build your raft, every moment here is an adventure waiting to happen. Let me tell you what to do at LEGOLAND water park.

Build-A-Boat

So, there’s this entertaining thing at the water park called Build-A-Boat. Kids use LEGO bricks to build their boats and then race them. It’s like a creative playfield where they can let their imaginations run wild. Plus, there’s a lazy river of 1000 ft. where they can float around on tubes and pick up LEGO bricks to add to their creations. LEGO City Coast Guard sets inspire it, so it’s exhilarating. And nearby, there’s a spot for younger kids to play with DUPLO bricks in the water. It’s always a big hit with the little ones.

Twin Chaser

It’s this fantastic duo of water slides where kids can ride with a buddy or their parents. You can pick between going solo or riding in a double tube. Here’s a little insider tip: riding in a double tube makes the ride even more fun because you go faster. My kids always drag their dad along because he screams like crazy, and it’s so funny. These slides twist and turn for 375 feet before you splash into the pool below. It’s perfect for kids who love thrills and excitement.

Joker Soaker

Another water zone in Orlando has tons of different slides and water features. It’s perfect for the kids to refresh on a hot day. They can rise, slide, and swash around in the wading pool. From more than five slides to try out and lots of surprises, a giant bucket dumps 300 gallons of water every few minutes; it’s fun for everyone, even us moms.

Minimum height requirements: 36 inches (small) 40 inches (tall)

Splash Out

Here, you can climb to the tallest point and pick one of three slides to zoom down. Then, zoom down a 60-foot drop and splat into the water below. Ahh, just too good. It is the most exciting ride in the park, so I bet your kids would love it.

The LEGO Wave Pool

This is like a big swimming pool with waves just right for everyone. Plus, there are two LEGO islands where you can hang out. Your tadpoles can build whatever they want with these giant LEGO bricks scattered around—whether it’s a palace, a yacht, or something unique. And when they’re done building, they can relax in the shady seating area or jump back into the pool for more pleasure.

Build-A-Raft Lazy River

Imagine a fun place called Build-A-Raft Lazy River where your kids can make LEGO boats and sail them down a long, lazy river. They’ve got a whole 1,000 feet of river for floating fun. The kids can get creative building their rafts, and as they float along, there are LEGO models to spot and lovely plants and trees to enjoy. It’s super relaxing for both the kids and us moms.

DUPLO Splash Safari

This is similar to a toddler-only water play area. The little cuties can play with large DUPLO creatures and tiny slides here. It’s also extremely safe, with staff members always watching them, so you are free of stress.

You can also enjoy various entertaining shows catering to different ages and interests. Here are some of the ongoing and must-see shows at LEGOLAND Florida:

  • LEGO DREAMZzz 4D: Z-Blob Rescue Rush: Step into the Dream World with Mateo and Izzie. Join the fun as they outsmart the Nightmare King with dazzling 4D effects. It is located at Fun Town.
  • Help catch a mischievous crook in LEGO City 4D – Officer in Pursuit. Laugh and cheer as you become part of the action with water, wind, and bubble effects. It is located at Fun Town.
  • LEGO NINJAGO: Master of the 4th Dimension: Not just see but hand tie with the ninjas in a thrilling quest to save the universe with action-packed 4D effects. It is located at Fun Town.
  • Brickbeard’s Watersport Stunt Show: With this, you can catch gravity-defying stunts and watch LEGO pirates perform thrilling acts, including wakeboarding and barefoot skiing, with catchy tunes and a new female pirate character. Located at: Pirate’s Cove.
  • DUPLO Valley Schoolhouse Shows: Located at the DUPLO Valley Theme Park, these shows offer interactive learning and fun through science, reading, and writing, which come to life perfectly for children ages two to six.
